Quality Matters ™ (QM) is an international organization that is recognized as a leader in quality assurance for online education to ensure the quality of online course design. QM provides a scalable quality assurance system (QM Higher Education Rubric) for online learning using a widely respected set of standards for the design of effective online courses and a rigorous, faculty peer review process for applying these standards.
With the implementation of Quality Matters™, we will be able to ensure adherence to research-based, best practices which increases learner engagement, retention and satisfaction, and, ultimately, learner achievement.
The Quality Matters™ Rubric is designed to provide a rigorous set of Specific Review Standards that can be consistently applied to online courses as part of a commitment to continuous quality improvement. Evaluates the course design, not course delivery.
More than 1,000 global member institutions subscribe to QM. Oregon State University Ecampus. California State University campus system, and Arizona State University are just a few examples of other subscribing institutions. CSU joins thirteen other Colorado post-secondary institutions in the adoption of Quality Matters.
Research has shown a positive impact on student satisfaction, engagement, and retention in courses designed to meet Quality Matters standards.
