Nutrition is one of the most important predictors of health outcomes, chronic disease risk, and premature death. As such, having knowledge in nutrition science is critical for a wide variety of health professionals. You'll be reading textbooks as well as research and articles from peer-reviewed sources and websites. You'll complete assessments, including tests, quizzes, and complete discussions and homework, just like you would for face-to-face courses. Class sizes are small, diverse groups of learners from different backgrounds. You will have regular interaction with your instructors, who are seasoned experts in the field with years of experience. They will lead discussions and provide guidance for learning and the completion of assignments. James is an assistant professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at Colorado State University. His academic background is exercise science, nutrition, physiology, biomedical sciences, and public health. His main interest is the role of nutrition in prevention of chronic diseases.
