Textile and Material Innovations for Outdoor Products is one of three courses in Colorado State University’s Sustainable Outdoor Product Development certificate. The certificate is a short-format, fully online series designed to build systems-level understanding of the outdoor recreation economy, progressing from foundational context to advanced material innovation and supply chain strategy.
This course provides foundational knowledge of the textiles and materials used in outdoor products, including the fibers, fabrics, and finishes that shape product performance, with a particular emphasis on emerging developments in sustainable materials for the outdoor industry. This context supports the other two courses focused on outdoor recreation, sustainability, and product development. While it is part of a larger sequence, this course can also be taken as a standalone learning experience and awards a CSU digital badge upon completion.
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
Please note that there are no refunds for open entry courses.
