Prerequisite

ETST 100 (Introduction to Ethnic Studies (GT-SS3)) or ETST 205 (Ethnicity and the Media); Junior standing.

Dr. Maricela DeMirjyn is an associate professor in the Department of Ethnic Studies at Colorado State University. Her doctorate is from the University of California, Santa Barbara in Cultural Perspectives and Chicana and Chicano Studies. Dr. DeMirjyn has an MA in Women’s Studies with an emphasis in art therapy. She teaches Ethnicity and the Media, Chicana Feminist Theory and Critical Disability Studies, as well as Ethnic Studies Research Methods. Currently, her research investigates Chicanx and Latinx narratives and representations of popular culture. She is also an alumna of the HERS Institute regarding Leadership Training for Women in Higher Education.
