SOWK 400 - Generalist Practice - Organizations/Communities

Knowledge and skills to implement the planned changed process with organizations and communities.
Must register for lecture and recitation. Sophomore standing.

Prerequisite

SOWK 340 with a minimum grade of C, may be taken concurrently.

Gwen Koenig has over 25 years of clinical and administrative social work experience. Her most recent position as Director of Strategic Growth with 3LS involves new business development for Omni Visions, Inc. and Omni Community Health, Inc. Both companies are strong leaders in the human services industry and operate in Tennessee, North Carolina and Kentucky. Prior to working at 3LS, Gwen served as Executive Director of Business Development for Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth (SAFY) in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, South Carolina, Nevada, Colorado and Alabama . Gwen also held Executive Director and State Director positions for non profit organizations in Northern Colorado and Southwest Ohio. Gwen has been an Adjunct Faculty for Colorado State University School of Social Work since 2016.
Gwen possesses a Master’s Degree in Social Work from University of Cincinnati. She is passionate about furthering the management skills of social workers to be future leaders of Human Services Organizations. Gwen has presented at numerous national and international conferences and is currently co-chairing The Alliance for Strong Families and Communities National Conference to be held in Denver, CO in October 2018.
