This course explores the evolution of education policy in the United States and its relationship to government, politics, and public administration. Students will examine the historical development of educational institutions and the roles of key actors at the federal, state, and local levels to understand their impact on education policy and public education in America. Through case studies and policy analysis, the course will address contemporary issues such as education funding, school choice, the roles of public and private actors, and other relevant topics.
Prerequisite
PPA 500 or PPA 501.
