This capstone is focused on independent research in political science. Students will apply their knowledge and understanding of political science to an issue-area of their choice. The capstone will cover the basics of research design in political science, and provide scaffolding for students to produce a rigorous piece of independent scholarship. The capstone will introduce students to various research methods (e.g., case studies, ethnography, interviews). Students will finish the capstone better equipped to evaluate other peoples’ research as academics, professionals, and informed citizens.

I teach classes on international security, US foreign policy, and international relations theory, and I am available to advise students (both graduate and undergraduate) on these topics and more. Most of my current research focuses on US foreign relations with other great powers, especially China. I have a keen interest in British and European politics.
