LEAP 580A5 - Managing AI in the Arts

Explores the relationship between artistic production and artificial intelligence while addressing urgent questions about authorship, equity, and ethics. Through applied projects and critical analysis, gain a foundational understanding of how AI is used in the artistic process across disciplines. Address and manage the artist-AI relationship for the benefit of all entities involved.

Prerequisite

LEAP 500. Graduate standing.

Instructors

Kent Youngblood

Kent Youngblood has over 30 years of experience in the film and television industry as a director and producer. His work has screened internationally and received critical acclaim, earning accolades that include two Emmy Awards, eleven Telly Awards, two Addys, and two ProMax/BDA Awards. Mr. Youngblood actively uses generative AI in his work and is a frequent speaker on production strategy, creative leadership, and the use of generative AI in the arts. He earned his Master of Arts in Film & Television at the University of Denver and received his Bachelors in Radio/TV/Film from Colorado State University.
