HORT 100 - Horticultural Science

Principles of plant science and related disciplines as the base and context for the introduction of horticultural practices.

A successful student will be able to:

  • Recall and explain key elements of plant biology, physiology, and propagation
  • Define and discuss cultivation of plants in several areas of horticultural science
  • Recognize and give original examples of the major categories of horticultural crop production systems

This course meets the All-University Core Curriculum (AUCC) requirements for Biological/Physical Sciences (Category 3A).

Important Information

CSU Main campus students are discouraged from taking the online section of this course. If you are a main campus student you may be removed from the course.

Armando Villa-Ignacio is a graduate student at Colorado State University under Dr. Jennifer Bousselot studying rooftop agrivoltiacs. He studied Conservation Biology at SUNY-ESF and has been interested in the relationship between people, plants, and sustainability. He has presented his research all over the world including South Korea, Puerto Rico, and Germany. He plans on pursuing his PhD and continue to research rooftop agritvoltaics and horticulture.
