ENGR 580A7 - AI-Augmented Engineering Management

Generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) systems and associated applications in the context of engineering management. Topics include artificial intelligence system structure, prompt engineering, along with comparisons between human and Gen AI system output. Organizational integration of Gen AI systems along with their impacts on strategic management, decision-making, ethics, and sustainability.

Prerequisite

Graduate standing.

Dr. Michael Botyarov joined Colorado State University as a doctoral candidate in 2019 and upon completion of his studies in 2023 has begun instructing graduate courses, specifically focusing on program management. Dr. Botyarov’s research interests include project management process optimization and human systems engineering, particularly with aerospace applications Dr. Botyarov has experience with programs in both aeronautics and astronautics, including skills in proposal writing, schedule development, budget management, and communication with a wide array of government stakeholders. Specific programs Dr. Botyarov has supported include the NASA Space Launch System (SLS) second stage, the WorldView-4 satellite ground system, along with various develop and sustainment efforts for the United States Air Force. In addition to his doctorate from Colorado State University, Dr. Botyarov has completed a BS (Metropolitan State University of Denver, 2014) in Aerospace Systems Engineering Technology, a Masters (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, 2016) in Systems Engineering, a Masters (University of Colorado – Denver) in Business Administration, and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
