CIS 600A - Project Management: Information Technology

Strategic role and management of technology and projects; students will apply knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques for project management solutions that are relevant in any discipline; balance competing project stakeholder requirements for quality, scope, time, cost, and personnel issues; plan and implement a functional class project; investigate the PMBOK & PMP/CAPM professional examinations; utilize management cases for analyzing project management issues and making project-related decisions.

Prerequisite

Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate (GR) OR Professional (PR); Credit not allowed for both CIS 600A and CIS 600B.

Instructors

Timothy W. Rodgers

Dr. Tim Rodgers has been employed at the CSU College of Business since 2014, teaching graduate level courses in project management, agile project management, supply chain management, quantitative business analysis, and strategic decision making. Tim’s career includes 25 years at Hewlett-Packard and Lockheed Missiles & Space in a variety of roles, including management of manufacturing engineering, international supply chain management, and quality engineering teams. He was Director of Manufacturing and Quality at Foxconn eMS in Shenzhen, China from 2009-2011. Tim also held positions at Eastman Kodak Co. and Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. Tim has a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California (Santa Cruz), and an MBA from the University of Oregon. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Six Sigma Black Belt. He hosts the podcast “Dare to Know,” which features interviews with quality and reliability thought leaders.
