CBE 320 - Chemical and Biological Reactor Design

Mechanisms and rates of chemical reactions; design of homogeneous and heterogeneous reactors; biological reactions and reactors.

Prerequisite

CBE 205 (Fundamentals of Biological Engineering with a minimum grade of C); Molecular Concepts and Applications with a minimum grade of C; Process Simulation with a minimum grade of C; CBE 332 (Heat and Mass Transfer Fundamentals may be taken concurrently)

Christie Peebles

Dr. Christie Peebles was born and raised in a rural town in Central Texas. She received her B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University and her Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering from Rice University. She was a post-doctoral scholar for a year at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is an associate professor who started at Colorado State University in 2009. Her lab’s research focuses on using metabolic engineering and synthetic biology to engineer organisms for a variety of applications from fuels and chemicals to pharmaceuticals and agriculture. In her free time, she loves to walk her dog, craft, and garden.
