This course is intended to enhance ones knowledge of the historical development of the Renaissance and the rational behind the use of materials and techniques that contributed to this great humanistic movement. This course will provide an opportunity to visit first hand the great works of the Italian Renaissance and investigate the materials and techniques used during this period. Visits to restoration labs and sites of interest for the study of techniques and materials will be included.
