ANTH 467 - Archaeology of Death - Mourning and Memory

Mortuary practice has long been a focus of archaeology and constitutes a most critical source of information on past lifeways. Examine common techniques and approaches to the study of ancient burial practice and ways that burials can tell us about past social status, health, and social organization through time, structured around the related themes of disease, funerary rituals, remembrance, and mourning.
