Examines the lives and roles of women, men, and non-binary individuals in a range of past societies. Consider gender theory in archaeology as well as the ways that gender can influence archaeological investigations and inform broader topics such as division of labor, subsistence strategies, sexuality, childhood, and artistic expression. Also consider the ways in which past cultures across the globe defined gender and how those definitions manifest in the archaeological record.
