I received my bachelor's degree in political science and master's in college student personnel administration from CSU. I completed my Ph.D. in College Student Personnel Administration from the University of Northern Colorado in 1987. I currently serve as the Program Director for the SAHE Program and the Executive Director of Assessment and Research for the Division of Student Affairs. I co-teach the Trends, Issues, and Assessment class.

My daughter graduated from college seven years ago and produces online training classes for yoga instructors. My son just graduated with his master's from the University of Northern Colorado and is working in Greeley, CO, with a technology company in the private sector. My wife, Sheri, is a music teacher. Sheri and I just became the proud new grandparents in December to Lela Christine Kaufman.
